If you are interested in having me write you a letter of recommendation, please ask me first, then submit a letter to help me write your recommendation. You should submit this letter before the summer break. I have a lot of letters to write, and will not have time to write them once September starts. If you wait until the last minute, I may not be able to help.
The letter should include specific things that you did in my class that made you stand out. Do you remember a demonstration that you took part in? Did you bring up something interesting in a class discussion once, or figure something out that was particularly challenging? General types of comments, such as "I participated a lot", "I always did my homework", or "I always did well on tests" are not useful because they apply to many students and is something I already know about. You can also include science related stuff you did outside of class too, such as after school or summer science programs.
The letter should be brief and absolutely no longer than one page. You may email it to me at raphaeluziel@gmail.com or give it to me in class.
